Kalastajan Kanava (Fisher’s Channel) is the most comprehensive fishing branch media in Finland for all fishing enthusiasts. The media offers fishing news, current documentaries, facts and tips about equipment and fishing techniques, insights into various fishing spots and methods, as well as stories about the fishers themselves at the core of the hobby.
The channel can be followed on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok, as well as on the online media kalastajankanava.fi. Kalastajan Kanava produces diverse video content, live broadcasts, articles, tests and a wide variety of other current fishing information for its followers on social media and its online platform.
Every week, Kalastajan Kanava reaches approximately 550,000 fishing enthusiasts through its channels. In total, Kalastajan Kanava has 130,000* followers across its social media channels. The mission of Kalastajan Kanava is to enable learning regardless of a person’s starting knowledge and skills, to promote the experiential nature of fishing, and to unite and advance the fishing and fisheries industry as broadly as possible.

Partners have the opportunity to participate in the production of our series, or alternatively, we can create tailored content suited exactly for the purposes of the company. Kalastajan Kanava is an auxiliary business name of Eforte Oy and a main part of the company’s operations. Its sister media, Kalaruoka.fi, offers information, recipes, and tips for those interested in fish, fish dishes, and Finnish seafood culture.
The head of Kalastajan Kanava is Jyri Kuusisalo. He has over 35 years of fishing experience. He loves perch and pike fishing, as well as assembling boats with fishing gear and electronics. He enjoys also all kinds of modifying and tuning of fishing gear.
Jyri’s spouse, Anne-Maarit Sepling, acts as the producer of Kalastajan Kanava and the CEO of the company. She started fishing almost 20 years ago. Anne-Maarit is always eager to test out new forms of fishing. Anne-Maarit enjoys perch fishing the most during the summer and autumn.

In addition to the entrepreneurs, Kalastajan Kanava employs one media assistant, as well as several journalists from the fishing and fisheries sector on a part-time and project basis and video editors.
